tested positive for hiv?
treat early and live a long normnal healthy life !
we know that treatment keeps your immune system healthy and reduces the risk of developing health conditions associated with HIV.
Treatment can also lower the viral load of HIV in your blood to virtually undetectable levels, and research from two international studies, PARTNER and Opposites Attract show that HIV positive men who are on treatment and have an undetectable viral load (UVL) do not transmit HIV to their partners.
more to know about hiv treatment
in the past
In the early days of HIV care when only a few treatments were available, people with HIV and their doctors would wait until someone’s CD4 count fell to around 200 to start treatment, basically, to a point where the immune system was very weak. Many people become sick and died of AIDS.
nowadays
These days, anti-retroviral (ARV) treatments are more effective, are far better tolerated by the body and with many more to choose from you can find what’s best for you. Doctors around the world start treatment instantly regardless of patient's CD4 level, this help people to live long and healthy.
treat early gives many benefits
The earlier it is started (within six weeks of diagnosis) the better –
1. for your health
2. for your buddies
3. for you community
viral load
is the amount of virus inside your blood. The more the worse, the less the better.
undetectable viral load
is the viral load that is too low to be detected by standard testing.
For HIV positive people, a sustained undetectable viral load makes HIV transmission unlikely. For your Undetectable Viral Load (UVL) to remain a reliable way to prevent passing on HIV, it is important to remember to take your meds regularly. And see your doc for regular viral load testing.
